Houses Don’t Build Themselves

Let’s say you wanted to build a house.  Somehow, you got all the tools and materials to build it dropped on your empty lot.  How long until you’d be able to live in it?

Well, that depends.  If you hire a team of contractors and laborers, you might be able to move in in just a couple months.  If you and a couple buddies work at it during the week, maybe less than a year.  If you work on it at night and on weekends, it’s going to take a lot longer.  And if you do nothing at all?  That’s easy – never.

New Gadget Added

I’ve been doing a lot more face-to-face work with my clients.  That used to be impossible when your clients were hundreds or even thousands of miles away.

My laptops came with webcams, but they were difficult to use at my house because I have so many windows (backlighting, you know).  I’ve been doing meetings and presentations via Google Hangout on my Chromebook, but it’s still the same problem – background.

I finally broke down and bought a Logitech c920 webcam for my desktop.  Yes, I have a window behind me, but I can control the room better.  I’m thinking of putting a custom backdrop behind me when I’m on camera.  We’ll see what happens.

online_softwareWe’re getting back to the point where Agile’ is planning to put on it’s own webinars, and perhaps help others put on webinars as well.

Not surprisingly, Google Hangouts and Hangouts On Air has been adopted by a lot of presenters.  But neither of those is perfect for marketers.  So a number of other businesses have used Google Hangouts as the backbone, and extended the technology around it.
