Introduction And Further Info
Hey! If you've showed up here, you're from the private Insane Productivity group. This post is also private – it doesn't show up in my regular blog feed.
I'm always looking to make contacts and network. Please feel free to leave a comment below if you want, or email me at scott@agilemarketingservices.com. I'd love to hear from you! So, here's a quick bio that I wrote for an upcoming blog tour for my book, Recognized Expert Status.
Bio:
Scott Gardner is the founder of boutique firm Agile' Marketing Services, LLC. They specialize in working with their clients to become Recognized Experts, and using that status to leverage the clients' marketing efforts. Scott has worked with clients large and small, local and international in focus. Currently, Agile' is working with clients as diverse as local restaurants, a mystery novelist, and an international group serving the nuclear power plant industry.
Scott is also a 3rd degree black belt in traditional Okinawan Goju-ryu karate-do, awarded to him through Seibukai International based in Okinawa City, Okinawa, Japan. He teaches and trains at Central New York Karate in East Syracuse, NY.
His training in karate has reinforced Scott's belief in "the basics." He works with his clients on executing all the small, important steps in order to build a solid foundation for future success.
More info:
I turned 50 at the beginning of 2014, but I didn't really panic like I thought I might. I've been working on a number of non-fiction books off and on over the last few years. The Japanese culture thinks that anyone under 50 should keep their mouth shut and learn. Anyone over 50 should teach. So that's why I'm suddenly cranking out all these books. My 2nd book got listed on Amazon a couple days back, and I'm pulling together chapters I'd already written for the 3rd one. The whole reason I'm doing this is because the IP course gave me a swift kick in the seat of my pants! If you want to keep track of what I'm publishing on Amazon, my authors page address is at http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B00M3BRE76
I'm married to a world class psychologist, and we live in a small town 30 minutes north of Syracuse, NY. She's had a thriving private practice for many years, but she's taking more time off now. I've almost got her convinced to start writing non-fic books for Amazon as well. We have two cats in a big house on 6 acres of land across from the town cemetery. The fact that I could say that used to be a draw back when I had the time to write horror and dark fantasy fiction.
As far as what I try to do with my clients, a lot of it is in the rest of my blog. If you're an entrepreneur, or own a small business, you should read it. False modesty aside, it can't hurt if you apply some of the stuff I talk about.
I'd really like to start a mastermind group, or more accurately a "mutual accountability action group." I'm reading a couple books right now on setting one up.
That's about it for now! If you want to know more, please ask. Again, you can comment below, or email me directly.
It's really nice "working" with all of you!
Before You Begin Building A Membership Site – Part 2
[This is an excerpt from my upcoming book, Membership Site Design.]
A basic WordPress installation, plus some basic text-based content, should take up less than 100 MB of space on your host’s server. However, unless you know you won’t be taking up that much space, I’d recommend going with at least 250 MB of space. This gives your site room to grow, and to store lesson content. I do not recommend going with a host who offers you “unlimited space.” Remember, they’re offering that to each and every one of their other customers too, and some of them are going to take as much space as possible. More importantly, they will also take the computing power of that server, leaving you with a slow-running site.
Before You Begin Building A Membership Site – Part 1

There are a number of questions you should ask yourself as you begin to jot your design ideas down. The very first one is: Should I be using a membership site at all? There are options for simpler systems, like putting your content in a password protected directory and giving out the one password to as many people as there are who want to access that information. I have a client who does that with the presentations from their annual conference.
July Donations Being Made
Our annual Christmas In July charitable giving event is underway. We've made some decisions on who gets donations, while others are still up in the air.
I can tell you that there are a couple different themes to the giving this year. The first is "water." We've made donations for water cleanup already – the ocean, and a small lake. "Think globally, act locally" is what they say. Well, we're doing both.
Stay tuned for more information on who we're helping. I urge you and any organizations you belong to – work, hobbies, church, etc. – to consider starting your own Christmas In July giving event.
