Big news? Probably not. But I’m pulling the trigger on a new podcast called Up Your Marketing! (UpYourMarketing.net) I’m planning on posting episodes twice a week. Three of those will be “solo” shows. Every 4th show will be an interview with other marketing experts. I’m thinking that the solo shows will be 15 to 20 minutes each, and the interviews will be 30 to 40 minutes each.
Right now, I’m planning on covering Recognized Expert Status on the show, as well as topics from my other books including the latest one, Profile Your Target Market, which will be officially released next week. The main focus of the show will be on action steps – getting off your duff and doing something. Any step forward, even a tiny one, is important.
I’ve had the site for about a year, maybe more. I recorded a few sample shows and I wasn’t really happy with my voice. By “voice” I mean both the actual sound of my voice and the style of my speech. So I waited. Just a couple days ago, I decided it was time to actually start this.
One of the things that prodded me into doing it was attending a convention last week. There were TONS of people walking around with cameras shooting videos, and sitting at tables (and poofy chairs, and hiding in corners) recording podcasts. I was blown away. So I came back, and on Monday I started asking my connections if they were interested in doing interviews. I’ve already gotten half a dozen positives.
In case you’re interested, the site is built on WordPress, and I’m using the Blubrry (that’s the correct spelling) PowerPress plugin. How’s it work? Dunno – haven’t started yet. Today was spent setting up the site and graphics, and finding some royalty-free music to use for show intro and outro.
