Regardless of your religion, no matter what holiday you celebrate, I wish you the very best! Merry Christmas to those that celebrate it. Celebrate Your Successes
No matter how minor, you should stop and celebrate your successes on the way to achieving your resolution.
A Setback Is Not A Defeat
Let’s say you’ve resolved to run a marathon in 6 months. You’ve gone out and run every day for the last 27 days. But for some reason, today your run just didn’t happen. That’s it then! You’ll never accomplish that goal now, will you?
Baloney! Stumbling on your way to achieving a goal is human – it happens to everybody. Just because you missed a run, or ate a rich dessert, or didn’t lift weights today doesn’t mean you can’t get back on track tomorrow. You’ve still got your previous successful work and your sheer determination. You cannot allow one setback to change your mental attitude.
Buddy Up
One way of getting closer to achieving your goal is to tell someone else. That’s right – expose your most shameful secret to a friend! If you’re lucky, you might find you have the same goal. Finding a buddy to work with you toward a common goal makes that goal easier to attain.
Thinking About Resolutions
This is the time of year people start thinking about New Years Resolutions. Almost 50% of Americans “make” resolutions – that is, they say to themselves “I gotta change X” where the X is their weight, or their job, or their relationship or money situation. But only 8% of those making resolutions actually follow through.
