Internships

Internships at Agile’ are intensive, hands-on positions.  We only offer one (1) unpaid position per semester, and interns deal directly with Agile’ staff and customers.  This is not a “get me coffee” type of internship.  You will not spend all your time filing papers or sorting the mail.  However, even the smallest task is important, so if you wind up running the vacuum cleaner or taking out the trash, keep in mind that you are never asked to do anything that even the head of the company doesn’t do.  There’s a saying in theater: “There are no small parts, only small players.”

Everything we teach you here is the Gospel truth, a pearl of wisdom that falls from our lips.  Your task is easy: believe everything we say, do tasks exactly as we tell you to, and then spend the rest of your career trying to prove us wrong.  Wisdom comes not from being taught, but from learning on your own!

We believe an internship should prepare you for your entire career, not just for the next six months.  While most tasks are process oriented (“Push this button, put that light over there, etc.”), we want you to think, to learn the principles behind the tasks and get to the strategies.  We want you to think about why some choices are made, and how you’ll make those decisions when you’re in charge.

Students who have completed internships with Agile’ since 2006 have gone on to become marketing managers with a wholesale supply house, sales managers, promotions directors – even the VP of a corporation.
